In Delhi, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 40°C, accompanied by light to moderate rain and thunderstorms. Hyderabad isn’t far behind, anticipating a blistering 41°C with dry heat and gusty winds. Kolkata will see a slightly cooler day with a maximum of 34°C, but moderate rain chances loom.
The situation intensifies in Rajasthan, where extreme heat pockets push temperatures above 42°C. Uttar Pradesh is not spared either, with persistent warm conditions reaching up to 40°C. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad stands out as one of the hottest cities today, hitting a staggering 43°C.
As for the northern regions, Jammu and Kashmir can expect light rain and even possible snowfall in higher altitudes, with temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C. This stark contrast highlights the diverse weather patterns across India.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR due to high heat stress levels projected between 40–42°C. Observers note that heat stress is increasingly affecting urban areas, impacting travel, health, and electricity demand.
The average temperature across many cities ranges from a minimum of 24°C to a maximum of 43°C. This dramatic rise in temperature coincides with ongoing discussions about climate change and its effects on weather patterns throughout the country.
