The introduction of a second attempt for MHT CET marks an important change in the examination process, allowing 4,92,383 students to improve their scores starting from May 9, 2026.

In the first attempt, 8,96,236 students registered, with 8,33,482 appearing for the test. This resulted in a notable attendance rate of 92.99%. The decision to allow a second attempt reflects a growing recognition of the pressures faced by candidates.

Key details about the exams:

The MBA/MMS CET will take place on May 9, 2026, with 53,931 candidates participating.

The PCB group exam is scheduled for May 10 and 11, 2026, involving 1,16,538 students.

The PCM group exam will run from May 12 to May 21, excluding May 16 and 17, with participation from 3,21,914 candidates.

This year marks the first time the CET Cell has introduced two attempts for these entrance exams—similar to the national-level JEE (Main). The higher percentile score will be considered for admission if candidates take both attempts.

Officials expect that a score of 100 marks in MHT CET will correspond to a percentile range of around 88 to 92 for PCM and between 85 to 90 for PCB. The official release of the MHT CET 2026 Answer Key Session 1 is anticipated by May 2, allowing candidates to review their performance.

As one official noted: “If a candidate appears for both attempts, the higher percentile score will be considered for admission.” This flexibility aims to reduce stress and enhance fairness in the selection process.
