AIIMS Mangalagiri, located in Andhra Pradesh, has emerged as a pivotal institution in the realm of medical education and healthcare since its inception. The MBBS course commenced in 2018 with an initial intake of 50 students, and the institution has since expanded to accommodate 748 students, with an annual intake of 125. Recently, AIIMS Mangalagiri celebrated a significant milestone by conferring degrees on 49 MBBS graduates, five MD/MS postgraduate students, and four Post-Doctoral Certificate Course students. In a recent development, AIIMS Mangalagiri has installed a Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAAT) system, a first-of-its-kind initiative among all AIIMS in South India. This advanced system, which cost approximately ₹1.73 crore, enhances diagnostic capabilities by enabling the early identification of infections such as HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.

Ahanthem Singh, a key figure in the institution, emphasized the importance of the NAAT system, stating, “The NAAT system enhances safety by significantly reducing the diagnostic window period.” This advancement not only improves patient care but also aligns with the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure.

Union Minister Anupriya Patel highlighted the government’s dedication to the medical sector, asserting, “The Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving utmost priority to the medical sector.” This statement reflects the broader context of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services across the country.
