In a tragic turn of events, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, a prominent figure in the Bengali film and television industry, died while filming a series titled ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega’ off Talsari beach in Digha, Odisha. The incident occurred on the evening of his death, with reports indicating he was in knee-deep water when he began to drown.
Banerjee, who was 43 years old, was rescued from the sea by crew members who attempted to save him. Despite their efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival at a Digha hospital at approximately 6:10 PM. The police have since registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating whether safety protocols were adhered to during the shoot.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with crew members shouting and trying to pull him out of the water. Diganta Bagchi, a crew member, recounted the frantic moments leading up to the rescue.

Sudipta Chakraborty, a fellow actor, reflected on Banerjee’s character, stating, “Rahul had a heart of gold. He stood up for me and voiced his opinion against internet hooliganism.”
