“Hazlewood arrived yesterday. He is looking fit,” said Andy Flower, the head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), as the team prepared for the opening match of IPL 2026 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Josh Hazlewood, retained by RCB, has been undergoing rehabilitation for hamstring and Achilles injuries that kept him out of action since October 2025. His absence was felt during significant tournaments, including The Ashes 2025-26 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
In the previous IPL season, Hazlewood showcased his prowess by taking 22 wickets in just 12 matches, boasting an impressive average of 17.55 and an economy rate of 8.77. His contributions were pivotal in RCB’s historic maiden title win in IPL 2025.
