Upcoming Payment Date
The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced that the second installment of the UP Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic session will be released on March 18, 2026. This scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to students from General, OBC, SC/ST, and minority communities, helping them continue their education.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UP Scholarship, Pre-Matric students must have a family income below ₹1 lakh annually. For Post-Matric students, the income limit is set at ₹2 lakh per year. Additionally, SC/ST students have a higher income threshold of ₹2.5 lakh per year for eligibility.
Application Status Tracking
Students can check their application status on the official website scholarship.up.gov.in. They will need to enter their registration number and date of birth to access their status. If the application status shows “Pending at District Scholarship Committee,” it indicates that verification is still ongoing.
In cases where the status displays “Rejected,” it suggests that there may be incorrect details or missing documents in the application. Conversely, if the status shows “Disbursed,” it confirms that the scholarship amount has been transferred to the student’s bank account.
Direct Benefit Transfer System
The scholarship amount will be directly transferred to students’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. To ensure successful payment, students must link their bank accounts with Aadhaar.
Importance of the Scholarship
The UP Scholarship Scheme plays a crucial role in providing financial support to students, enabling them to meet part of their academic expenses. This initiative is particularly significant for those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as it helps alleviate the financial burden associated with education.
As the release date approaches, students are encouraged to verify their application details and ensure their eligibility to receive the benefits of this scholarship program. The timely disbursement of funds is essential for students to continue their studies without interruption.
