Postponement of Jana Nayagan Screening
The screening for the film Jana Nayagan, scheduled by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for March 9, 2026, at 2 PM, has been postponed. This decision comes after a committee member fell ill, leading to an indefinite delay in the review process.
KVN Productions, the film’s production company, received official notification regarding the rescheduling on March 8, 2026. This postponement adds to the film’s challenges, which have included a series of hurdles since its initial planned release on January 9, 2026.
Earlier, a member of the original committee had filed a formal complaint concerning the film’s portrayal of religious sentiments and the use of armed forces logos. In response, the CBFC chairman directed the film to a revising committee for further scrutiny.
The ongoing review process has resulted in the film remaining unreleased for several months, drawing significant attention within the industry and among fans. The production company had previously filed an appeal with the Madras High Court in January after the decision to send the film for a revising committee review.
Despite these setbacks, there is speculation that Jana Nayagan may be scheduled for re-release in June 2026. However, details remain unconfirmed.
